A early Victorian memorial ring with a black, layered central stone with the upper white layer carved as a "forget-me-not", flanked by a white pearl either side, one of which is possibly a replacement as it is slightly lower in the setting. Black enamel to the folige pattern split shoulders (95% intact) and the engraved band (70-80% intact), with no large patches missing. Assayed and hallmarked in London in 1844 as 18ct gold, with Queen Victoria's duty mark head, maker is DS over ES. Engraved within "Cha's Wiench Ob, 3rd July 1844 Al 74".
