Antique 15 ct gold & black enamel mourning brooch c 1870. A yellow gold mourning brooch in bow design with two tassel drops attached; intricate scroll pattern;gold design set in black enamel with two drops attached; pendeloque shape in black enamel with scroll work; the scroll pattern to the right has compressed damage; centre of brooch set with sardonyx stone approx. 13 mm x 9 mm with floral carving and further three sections in gold scroll pattern from setting; locket section on reverse side of brooch set with hair; base metal pin and hook clasp; not hallmarked but tests as 15 ct. Weight 11 grams and brooch width 45 mm. Very minor dings to back.
