This is an antique 19th Century mourning brooch in rolled gold on brass with black enamelling and the words IN? The edging is lovely rococo decoration and the centre piece is raised and under the glass is a photo of a baby / young child. The dome shaped back is plain rolled gold, no engraving.

No maker's marks or metal marks etc. Please see close-up photographs provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition for yourself. Normal signs of age and use wear including some surface scuffs etc. The back of the brooch is dinted in a few places. There is what looks like deliberate scuffs on the surface of the metal where someone has tested it for gold. There is a raised edge on the central photographic area. The rococo and enamel are good.

The glass window is good. My stock ref: #T74/22923/Q448-70 in white drawers #T74.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal sized Coke can (330ml). In the title or description it means. Condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. In relation to all my listings it does not mean " about fine ".

I have used A/F for " as found " for 45 years.
