Black Enamel and 18 ct Yellow Gold Sepia Mourning Ring - Antique Circa 1780. This stunning fine and impressive antique Georgian mourning ring has been crafted in 18 ct yellow gold. The oval anterior face of the ring is embellished with a sepia panel depicting an urn under a weeping willow. The posterior surface of the ring is embellished with the contemporary engraved inscription "E Jopling, Ol 30 Augt, 1780, Oe 49".

The tapering shoulders meld with the sepia setting and meld to a plain ring shank, ornamented to the anterior with impressive black enamel and gold foliate designs. This Georgian mourning ring has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 ct gold. This stunning sepia ring is the finest example of its type you could hope to acquire. NOTE: A weeping willow is symbolic of mourning, sorrow and grief.
