Antique Mourning Brooch Black and Gold Enamel with Woven Hair and Inscription

  
Beautiful Victorian Mourning brooch with woven blond hair. Has the name and date of deceased on the back. A black enamel frame with gold coloured detailing.

Measures 1.5" across and 1" in height. Original hinge and c catch pin, typical of the Victorian era.

In Memory of Agnes Swan. Agnes is buried in Wellogate Cemetry in Hawick, Scottish Borders. She was 14 at the time of her death.
