A beautiful antique early Art Deco era mourning ring. It is a navette shaped ring with an elongated central black enamelled panel set with three split pearls, the pearls arranged to form an ivy leaf. It has chunky raised shoulders and a smooth polished band with a slight D profile.
One of the things I love the most about this ring is the unusual ivy leaf design, the ivy symbolising eternity or love'evergreen. It is fully hallmarked for 9ct gold, Chester Assay office, 1915. A charming antique mourning ring with stacks of sentiment and character. It possibly had a glazed panel at the reverse at some point. Good used condition overall, some age commensurate surface wear and overall patina, some surface scratches and a small chip to the enamel at the bottom, not all the way through.
