Antique Victorian 9ct Gold Black Enamel and Butterfly Wing Mourning Brooch Pin. A beautiful miniature antique Victorian brooch.

Made of solid 9ct gold. A mourning brooch with initials in black enamel. The brooch is gorgeous and ornate with tiny flower motifs around the edges.

The center features a glass locket panel, which is holding inside a piece of iridescent butterfly wing. Victorians used butterfly wing in their jewellery to add a gorgeous colour.

A tiny work of art, measuring 2.1 x 1.8 cms in size with the pin being a little longer than this. With'C' clasp and tension pin. The brooch is unmarked but tests as solid 9ct gold.

In fair antique condition with some age related tarnish and wear. The butterfly wing has some light deterioration and has browned in some places. The enamel has some chips. The C clasp looks to be a replacement for the original. This item, along with the others in our Dear Rose, With Love shop, has been hand selected by us, for you.

All items are tested and verfiied, and are exactly as we describe them. Please note it is common for antique pieces to not have hallmarks, but we tests all metals and guarantee our findings. Please note that pictures and photographs on the internet can sometimes give a misleading look to the colour and size, etc, depending on screen settings. Please make sure you read the description to be clear about the item specifics. All vintage items are cleaned and sanitised before we sell them.

However, for your own piece of mind we suggest that on arrival of your order you use your own method of sanitising at home before wearing your new pieces.
