Solid 18ct yellow gold caseback with Cartier insignia, hallmarks & serial number. Stainless Steel sword style blued hour/minute hands. Genuine leather Hirsch alligator print strap with Hirsch pin buckle.

Brand name that resonates with luxury and royalty, Cartier wristwatches combine daring designs with ultimate desirability. This piece is more like art, it features a solid 18ct yellow gold case, beautifully imagined with radical design.

It has a square case with'bullet' lugs, with the bezel engraved with enamel hour markers in a deep, pigeon blood red/purple. Of course, in typical Cartier fashion, the crown is encrusted by a cabochon in the matching colour. This example even has a' Paris' dial which is highly sought after by collectors.

It is small and traditionally sized, but has strength in design! As a watch collector, I have never seen a Cartier Quadrant in this colour before, I believe it may be a unique piece from when Cartier timepieces were put together in more of an Avant-Garde fashion instead of a factory press. I have contacted many prominent Cartier collectors and they, too have never seen this example before. Variations in these early Paris examples are common, and as such I believe this may be the only noted example of the Quadrant in a deep purple colourway.

As for the condition, it is absolutely excellent - staggering to consider this was manufactured four decades ago. The watch has just been routinely serviced and all functions are working perfectly. This is a collectors piece, and while it's of course stunning on the wrist - would appeal to a Cartier aficionado with one eye on the future value of this unique wristwatch.
