D'Orlan signed vintage 1980s gold-plated black enamel necklace and bracelet

  

Top quality d'Orlan necklace and bracelet in smart and classic 1980s combination of warm yellow-gold plate and sharply contrasting, black enamel. This is a very fine example of good design and skilled craftsmanship. The necklace and bracelet are identical except for their length and consist of small closely-coupled gold-plated segments which remind me of little coffee beans!

Each piece is indented and filled with jet black enamel. The quality of this jewellery is further demonstrated by the short extension piece for the necklace which can easily be inserted or removed to neatly alter the length. In fact it is also possible to attach the bracelet to the necklace and wear it as a single much longer piece. Necklace and bracelet are in excellent condition with no damage or visible signs of wear and tear. The clip fastenings are all secure and they carry clear d'Orlan signatures. D'Orlan jewellery is highly sought-after. It was founded in Canada by Maurice Bradden in 1957 and finally went out of business in 2006. The company produced a varied range of jewellery but all of it was of an extremely high standard due to the fact that Bradden had trained under the incomparable Marcel Boucher and had in fact bought Bouchers company in the 70s.
