Charming forget me not flower in seed pearls to the front of this black enamel mourning brooch or pin dating from the Georgian period. Made from 15ct yellow gold, tested as there are no marks, with dark brown braided mourning hair to the rear behind a locket lens. The enamel is in good order, all the seed pearls are present but a few have darkened slightly, the hair to the reverse seems to be in good order but is a little dirty, we have not opened the rear locket compartment. Good secure clasp and pin. Simply charming example of a mourning brooch.
