ORNATE 14k Gold VICTORIAN Cross Pin Pendant 11 NATURAL AMETHYSTS + Black Enamel

  
This c1880 antique 14k yellow gold hand-wrought Cross pin/pendant features 11 Natural Amethysts and black enameled ribbons on the front and along all the edges. It measures 1 3/4" long x 1 3/8" wide. Ten of the amethysts measure 3mm x 3mm x 3mm deep - the one in the center is a bit larger - measuring 4mm x 4mm x 3mm deep. I estimate the total weight to be 1.5ct This cross is not marked but acid-tested positive for 14k for me - and for my jeweler - I guarantee it to be such. OVERALL WEIGHT IS 5.8 GRAMS. I took photos in different light - daylight, indoor artificial light and camera flash- to show the beauty and glow of the amethysts. CONDITON: All stones are sound - no chips.

The double-stripe black enameled bows are completely intact on the front - the black edge trim is about 50% intact. Each stone is held in place by 6 prongs with 1 exception: The 2nd stone down from the bale has one broken prong (seen in last photo). The bale swings up to hold a chain, or down to be tucked away when it is worn as a pin. The C-clasp is double reinforced (as seen in 10th photo)- the pinback is strong.
