A TRULY STUNNING SUPER-SIZED ANTIQUE EARLY VICTORIAN PERIOD 15CT GOLD & ENAMEL FRONTED MEMORIAM BROOCH - C1840/50'S, PERIOD CASKET BOX. FULLY TESTED & WARRANTED & 22.3 GRAMS. A SUPER QUALITY COLLECTIBLE & VERY RARE!

It weighs 22.3 grams. This stunning rarity is presented in a period leather casket style box.

This brooch is of oval form and the front is dressed with tested high carat gold and has a black enamel band picked out in gold lettering -''In memory of'. The base of the brooch is made up of a base gold tone metal, either pinchbeck or polished brass. It has been strengthened with solder in the dim and distant past and is in excellent condition.

It has good original bar clasp. The brooch has a front facing gold band, behind which is replacement Perspex glazing.

This area would have been for the hair of the departed or a similar keepsake, but now appears to be sealed, but could possibly be reopened? Is a super item and measures 2.0'' in total length and is 2.5'' wide. It is 0.5'' in overall depth.

Is a very rare antique brown leather. Casket style box, with a purple velvet interior and a felt pad. It has an excellent hinge and front fixing decorative clasp. It is in condition 2/3, is undamaged, but shows age related scuffs and wear to the exterior. This item is in vintage condition 2/3. The brooch is in excellent order and all of the elements are present and undamaged, with no cracks or chips evident to the enamel. The front decorative ring appears fixed and has not been opened. There is evidence of past repair to the rear of the brooch, but this is stable. The condition of the box is above? All of our jewellery is professionally cleaned and is ready to wear.
