Rare & Beautiful Antique Victorian Black Enamel Momento Mori Mourning brooch with hair circa 1870. The brooch features black enamel with the words in memory of and has a hair compartment in the centre with a glass window. The brooch is either a good quality rolled gold or pinchbeck. The brooch is in excellent antique condition, the enamel has a couple of areas of damage that I can find which are hard to see on the photos due to the enamel being black, the hair compartment window is clouded but I think the glass comes out and may be cleaned although I have not removed or attempted to remove this compartment for fear of damaging it.

The brooch approximately measures 4.2 cm by 3.5 cm and approximately weighs 15.7g. My pictures are not to scale please see my pictures as these form my description also please see my other listings.
