Vintage Gold Tone And Black Enamel Chinese Zodiac Bracelet

  

Unusual and stunning yellow metal and black enamel bracelet featuring the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac. Each little circular plaque has a beautifully-detailed and executed creature set against a black enamel background.

The ever-popular rat is on the plaque of the fastener. On the reverse of each plaque, there is engraved detail; each one being different and featuring flowers, plants like bamboo, a bird and, in the one before the clasp, some Chinese text, see photo 14. Every one of these plaques is signed on the reverse. It is believed that the bracelet is gold-plated silver. Each little round plaque measures just under 1cm and the bracelet measures 20cms/8 inches in total and weighs 16.4g.

2023 is the year of the Water Rabbit and it is a symbol of longevity, peace and prosperity in Chinese culture and he can be seen in photo 11. This bracelet would make a wonderful gift for anyone no matter what the year.
