Vintage, Rare Collectible Butler & Wilson Black Enamel Cicada Brooch with Box. Very rare to find one of these in such good condition with no wear to the enamel and all original crystals.

The brooch has 10 faceted black rhinestones set in gold tone metal with black enamel. Influenced by the Cicada brooches in the Basque Country popular as a good luck symbol as these insects only sing in the trees when the sun is shining. Signed to the reverse with B&W and No. The brooch measures 4.6 cm in length and 1.7 cm in height.
